Rectifiability and Perimeter in Step 2 Groups
We study finite perimeter sets in step 2 Carnot groups. In this way we extend the classical De Giorgi’s theory, developed in Euclidean spaces by De Giorgi, as well as its generalization, considered by the authors, in Heisenberg groups. A structure theorem for sets of finite perimeter and consequently a divergence theorem are obtained. Full proofs of these results, comments and an exhaustive bib...
متن کاملCoxeter Groups, 2-completion, Perimeter Reduction and Subgroup Separability
We show that all groups in a very large class of Coxeter groups are locally quasiconvex and have uniform membership problem solvable in quadratic time. If a group in the class satisfies a further hypothesis it is subgroup separable and relevant homomorphisms are also calculable in quadratic time. The algorithm also decides if a finitely generated subgroup has finite index.
متن کاملBlow-up in Non Homogeneous Lie Groups and Rectifiability
In this paper we extend the De Giorgi notion of rectifiability of surfaces in non homogeneous Lie groups. This notion and the principal properties of Cacciopoli sets had already been proved in homogeneous Lie group, using a blow-up method, with respect to the natural dilations. In non homogeneous Lie groups no dilation are defined, so that we need to apply a freezing method, locally approximati...
متن کاملA Notion of Rectifiability Modeled on Carnot Groups
We introduce a notion of rectifiability modeled on Carnot groups. Precisely, we say that a subset E of a Carnot group M and N is a subgroup of M , we say E is Nrectifiable if it is the Lipschitz image of a positive measure subset of N . First, we discuss the implications of N-rectifiability, where N is a Carnot group (not merely a subgroup of a Carnot group), which include N-approximability and...
